The Media Indie Exchange (MIX) is all about the games. It was designed by indies and indie game enthusiasts with the primary focus of providing a casual yet professional setting for indie developers to demo their unreleased projects exclusively to the media and industry leaders behind closed doors.
This platform gives the press the opportunity to make connections with a diverse group of indies and get to the root of why we are passionate about great gaming experiences without distractions or filler.
The MIX 2014 is being organized by Interabang Entertainment and held just blocks away from the Moscone center during the first night of the Game Developers Conference (GDC) on the fourth floor of the IGN building. The event is differentiated from others by being one of the only evening happenings where playing fresh games is the main attraction.
This will be the third MIX in San Francisco. The previous San Francisco event showcased over 30 developers from around the world, demonstrating award winning games that were later released and featured on Steam, XBLA, PSN, iOS and other platforms.History
The MIX was originally organized in March 2012 by indie evangelist John Polson and indie entrepreneur Justin Woodward and his team at Interabang. With the support from Alex Austin of Cryptic Sea and industry veteran Todd Northcutt, a handful of indies and press were brought together to play fresh games.>
